What is Ledger.com/start®?
Ledger.com/start® is the official onboarding page from Ledger that centralizes downloads, setup instructions, compatibility notes and links to official support resources. It’s the recommended first step for anyone who owns — or is about to buy — a Ledger hardware wallet.
Download Ledger Live & install
From Ledger.com/start® you can download Ledger Live for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android. Ledger Live is the companion app that lets you add accounts, view balances, buy/swap, and stake supported assets while your private keys remain safely stored on the Ledger device.
- Visit Ledger.com/start® and choose your OS.
- Install Ledger Live and follow the app's “Get started” flow.
- Connect your Ledger device and follow on-screen initialization (create PIN, record recovery phrase).
Only download Ledger Live via official Ledger pages or the official app stores to avoid malicious copies.
Security best practices
Security is the core reason to use a hardware wallet. Important tips: never share your 24-word recovery phrase, write it down on the provided recovery sheet (offline), verify you downloaded Ledger Live from Ledger.com/start®, and keep firmware up to date via the Manager in Ledger Live.
